Garden City, N.Y. - A combined 4-0 record last week for the Adelphi University men's and women's soccer teams has led to junior
Sergio Reyes and senior
Taylor Salmon being named the MetLife's Legacy Advisors Players of the Week.
Reyes did not allow a goal in a 2-0 week for the Panthers last week. He averaged two saves per-game to complete the two shutouts and help the Panthers improve to 5-1-1 in NE-10 play before Tuesday's draw at Franklin Pierce. The junior was named NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.
Salmon scored a goal in each game last week while adding an assist on Saturday to help the Panthers go 2-0. She scored both goals on her only two shot attempts and also helped the Adelphi defense yield just 6.0 shots per-game. For her efforts, she was named both the NE-10 Player and Defensive Players of the Week.
The men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday to host third ranked Southern New Hampshire at 3:00 pm on Motamed Field after playing to a 2-2 draw at Franklin Pierce yesterday. Meanwhile, the women's soccer squad, who jumped into the NSCAA Poll at 20th yestserday, hosts the 10th ranked Golden Knights of Saint Rose this evening at 7:00 pm.
