Garden City, N.Y. - During halftime of the women's basketball game against Franklin Pierce University on January 29, members of the athletic department and presented a check to the New York State Breast Cancer Hotline.
For the eighth straight year, the Adelphi University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics helped raise awareness of breast cancer this past October with the Jennifer Montgomery Breast Cancer Awareness month event. During the month long event, raffle tickets and "Think Pink" merchandise was sold to raise money and awareness for the cause.
This year the department gave a check for $2,680, making the total to date over $36,180.
