Charity Baseball Game Raises Money For Wounded Warrior Project

The Panthers joined forced with LIU Brooklyn to raise more than $1,700 for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Garden City, NY - The Adelphi University baseball team hosted the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds Sunday afternoon for a charity game to help raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. The game raised more than $1,700 that was donated to the organization that's mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors.

Through tickets purchased, more than $1,700 was raised with more than 150 people in attendance. The game is part of the fall season for the Panthers in preparation for the 2015 campaign.

"It was a great day, great game for a great cause," said Head Coach Dom Scala. "I am very happy that we raised over $1,700. Thanks to my players and the LIU Brooklyn players for selling many tickets."

The Wounded Warrior Project purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
