Garden City, N.Y. - Members of the Adelphi University women's basketball team volunteered at the Alice Brown Early Learning Center on Thursday and helped the childcare staff by reading to and playing with children 18 months to five years of age who attend the daycare program.
The mission of the Alice Brown Early Learning Center (ELC) is to offer a high quality experiential learning environment to faculty, employees, students and community families, ensuring an optimal play-based environment is implemented to foster the continued development and learning of all participants.
The Alice Brown Early Learning Center (formerly the Child Activity Center) has been providing part- and full-day programs for pre-schoolers for more than 30 years. Adelphi's new Early Learning Center facilty was dedicated in September 2008 in honor of Alice C. Brown M.A. '88. The new center continues our proven tradition of providing outstanding care to the families of the Adelphi community.
