Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's lacrosse team will join a national trend on Wednesday, April 18, supporting Lax-4-Life for the second season in a row. The goal of Lax-4-Life and women's lacrosse is to spread awareness about the seriousness of suicide and get information out about prevention and awareness initiatives.

T-shirts and bracelets will be sold during the game with all proceeds going to benefit Lax-4-Life. The proceeds from the 50/50 raffle as well as ticket sales will also go to benefit the non-profit organization and donations will also be accepted.

LAX-4-LIFE Inc. is a national lacrosse campaign to provide and support programs geared toward adolescent and young adult suicide prevention awareness.

Lax-4-Life was started in spring 2009 by members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Association after teams were confronted with the prospect of life after suicide. When resources were not available they asked "What can we do?" Lax-4-Life was the answer.

In the spring of 2010 the campaign was spread nationally throughout NCAA Division II womens lacrosse, with over 2/3 of all teams participating in close to 50 designated games throughout the season. As a result over 1,000 t-shirts were sold. These profits along with donations collected during the games resulted in $17,000 being raised for the Allyson Rose Green Foundation.
