Garden City, N.Y. -
The Adelphi University women's bowling team presented the Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline with a check for $1,000 in support of the Athletic Department's Think Pink efforts. The team raised the funds through its Bowl-A-Thon held earlier this year.
"We all felt that we needed to give back to our community," Team Captain Kristin Hayes said. "We thought the best way of doing so was to help this Breast cancer Hotline that has a direct impact on the entire state."
During the month of October, the Athletic Department staff and its teams raised over $4,000 for the hotline which was presented during half-time of a women's basketball in February. The bowling team's donation pushed the tally to just over $5,000. In total, over the past four years, the Panthers have generated over $21,000 for the hotline.
