Men's Lacrosse and Women's Volleyball Lend a Hand

Aug. 30, 2010

Garden City, N.Y. - It's been an annual tradition for Adelphi University student-athletes to assist incoming students on "Move-In Day" and this year the men's lacrosse team and women's volleyball team kept that tradition alive. On Saturday, August 28, members of both teams took time out of their day's and came out in force to lend a helping hand to assist the check-in for new freshmen and transfer residents.

"It reminded me of when I arrived and moved in to Linen hall some 23 years ago," Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Gordon Purdie said. "With 17 new faces on the lacrosse team this year it was an exciting day to see new players and students move in and get ready for the new year."

Adelphi welcomed a freshmen population that includes over 900 students and classes are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 1st.
