Garden City, N.Y. -
On December 11, the women's bowling team hosted a successful bowl-a-thon at Sheridan Lanes in Mineola, New York. The Panthers raised over $1,200 for the American Diabetes Association.
Approximately 75 family and friends were treated to an exciting evening of cosmic bowling, food, and fun. The event, spear-headed by seniors Kristin Hayes and Cristina Reale, was assisted by the entire team and together they were able to raise $1,294.00 for diabetes research.
"Our women have always exemplified the true spirit of [being] student-athletes," Head Coach Robert Cincotta said. "They have been actively involved in S.A.A.C., Cans for Cancer, and other community service projects. Coach Sapp and I are particularly proud of our athletes willingness to reach out to the public and their willingness to give of their time and talents".
The team is working to set up a date to present the proceeds to the association.
