On Sunday, March 25, the Twigs of Winthrop University Hospital partnered with Garden City Basketball for a fun-filled day of basketball clinics sponsored by John Skramko and hosted by Adelphi University's Athletic Department. The event consisted of clinics for various age groups and guest speakers provided valuable information for the participants. Adelphi's men and women's Basketball teams, under the direction of Head Coaches James Cosgrove and Kelley Watts, came out to support the event and showcase their techniques.

Twigs, a fundraising group for Winthrop University Hospital, has been in existence since 1967. This is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose mission is to better the life of a child in the Pediatric Unit at Winthrop University Hospital. In the past four years, they have dedicated all of their fundraising efforts towards the In-patient Pediatric Wing and the Child Life Program at the hospital, which provides various forms of therapy such as art and music, for its patients.
