Adelphi Participates in Swim Across America

Garden City, N.Y. - Members of the Adelphi University swim team participated in Swim Across America on Saturday, August 20 to raise money for cancer research. This was due to the generosity of Panther Club member, James P. Riley, Jr., who donated the $3000 entry fee to sponsor the team.

The following six swimmers, junior Matthew Jordan, sophomores Arnold Brulhardt, Charles Castillo and Timmy Mueller, freshman David Brulhardt and former teammate Amanda Aniboli, each finished in the top ten in the one mile swim across the Long Island Sound. Adelphi's top finisher, Arnold Brulhardt finished second overall.

Proceeds from the event, which raised $1,001,464 and counting, benefit Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Cancer Support Team of Westchester and the Children's Hospital of New York-Presbyterian.
