SAAC Sends Care Packages to Soldiers

Nov. 18, 2004

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) sent care packages to American soldiers in Iraq as part of "SAAC Attack". Created as a way to give back to those who may not have the opportunity to be with family and loved ones during the holiday season, SAAC collected supplies along with individual hand-written notes to send to our courageous military overseas.

Adelphi student-athletes understand that they are fortunate to be in a situation where they can play a sport they love and receive a great education. But they also realize there are many people fighting for those very things they have the privilege of having.

SAAC reached out to all coaches, student-athletes, and non student-athletes and collected donated items such as razors, shaving cream, soap, cookies, magazines, frisbees, sport media guides, athletic apparel and more. The SAAC members teamed up to put together and wrap over 50 care packages.
